Meeting with third-year students of the Educational and Research Institute of Foreign Philology
The Diya team recently visited students of the Educational and Research Institute of Foreign Philology at Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University as part of a career meeting for third-year philology students. Usually, such meetings are held with language schools or translation agencies, so our goal was to introduce students to the IT industry, explain how IT companies operate, and showcase career opportunities for specialists with strong English skills.
During the meeting, we discussed what an IT company actually does, how the software development process works, who works in IT besides developers and testers, and the roles philology students can grow into (including IT Engineer, Business Analyst, Project Manager, Marketing Specialist, HR, Recruiter, and Sales Manager). We also emphasized that English can serve as a solid foundation for building a successful career in IT when combined with technical knowledge.
